Chic villas, large gardens and here and there even a wellness area or a private swimming pool. Last week of House Hunters it was something to dream about. During ‘Million Week’, agents were able to work with budgets of up to four million euros, in the case of Love Island winner Jotti. And one of these brokers was from Ghent: Marie de Winne, who has been working in Deinze in the Infinimo office for two years. This week, more than 150,000 viewers saw her at work.

“Everything happened very quickly,” says Marie. “Suddenly we received a call from production in the office asking if we wanted to participate. My colleagues quickly looked at me, but I had to think about it myself. I was a little unsure, especially because the bar is a little higher during Millions Week. Few properties meet all the criteria, and what’s more, many owners want the greatest discretion: not everyone wants their house to be shown on television. (Learn more under the photo)

Long day

Marie nevertheless took up the challenge and all of Flanders was able to see how she approaches her home visits. “It took some getting used to: especially at the beginning, I always forgot that I wasn’t allowed to look at the camera. But I quickly got used to it and felt in good hands with the crew. We quickly forget that there are so many people watching.

At the end of the week, Marie even came out on top: in total, she obtained the highest number of points among potential buyers. “It’s a nice bonus,” says Marie. “The trophy also found a nice place at home. But honestly, I didn’t think winning was the most important thing. I was really there for the experience and didn’t view the other two agents as competition. On the contrary, today I still have a lot of contact with Lucien and Fien. We spent six long and intense days of filming together and it immediately created a bond. (Learn more under the photo)

Big screen debut

Even though Marie herself remains modest, Infinimo colleagues did not let her television debut pass by. To his surprise, they had organized a watch party at Kinepolis Ghent, which was also attended by his friends and family. The real estate agent not only made his debut on the couch, but also on the big screen.

“Great to experience, of course! And when it turned out that I had won, the whole room applauded. But in reality, I found it even stranger to see myself on television on Monday, realizing that thousands of people could see me in action in the meantime. It suddenly made him “real.” Since then, I have received many kind messages, even from people with whom I made a home visit. You’re the same on TV as you are in real life, they say. Happy. (laughs) »

Not bad, especially for a real estate agent with only over two years of experience. Marie seems to have found the job of her dreams. “It’s very varied and that’s what I like. You continue to meet new people with their own stories. If you can also help them find new accommodation, that’s of course great.
