It will debut on Netflix on March 14, 2025 The Electric Statethe new film directed by the Russo Brothers, famous for the success of Avengers: Endgame. Based on the graphic novel by Simon Stålenhag, the film promises an explosive mix of action, adventure and mystery in an alternative America of the 90s, where technology and humanity are disturbingly intertwined.
Millie Bobby Brown plays Michelle, an orphaned teenager living in a world where animated robots and mascots, once an integral part of society, have been banished after a failed uprising. Her life changes when she meets Cosmo, an enigmatic robot linked to her younger brother Christopher, who she thought was dead.
Determined to find him, Michelle embarks on a journey to the American Southwest accompanied by Cosmo. Joining them is Keats, a smuggler played by Chris Pratt, and his robotic companion Herman, voiced in the original version by Anthony Mackie. Together, they face unpredictable challenges, exploring a mysterious “No Zone” populated by exiled robots and uncovering truths far more sinister than they imagined.
Alongside Millie Bobby Brown and Chris Pratt, the film boasts an impressive cast: Ke Huy Quan, Stanley Tucci, Giancarlo Esposito, Woody Harrelson, Brian Cox, Jenny Slate and Alan Tudyk, many of whom lend their voices to the robots that populate this retro-futuristic universe.
