The Russian president said last Thursday that he is willing to meet his American counterpart “at any time”, although he does not know when the possible meeting will take place because the US politician “has not said anything” about it
There are currently no plans for an in-person meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President-elect Donald Trump. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told the Russian Tass agency. “There has been no real impulse so far,” he said, responding to a question about whether there was a possibility of a meeting before Trump's inauguration or whether in-person contact had been discussed. The Kremlin chief said last Thursday that he is willing to meet Trump “at any time”, although he does not know when the possible meeting will take place because the US politician “has not said anything” about it.
“Horrible” war
“President Putin said he wants to meet with me as soon as possible, so we have to wait, but we have to end this war,” Donald Trump said during a forum of the ultraconservative organization Turning Point in Phoenix, Arizona. The president-elect said the war in Ukraine, launched in February 2022 by Russia's invasion, is “horrible” and that ending the conflict is one of the things he wants to do “quickly.” “Millions of soldiers died. We're seeing numbers that are crazy. I have to stop him”, added the tycoon who said that if he had been the president the war would never have broken out.

Trump's priority is to end the Kiev-Moscow conflict
“We have not spoken to each other for four years. I am ready to do so at any time and also to meet him,” the Russian leader said in his last press conference of the year. Last week the Kremlin reported that the Russian leader had not received any invitation from Trump to attend his inauguration, scheduled for January 20th. Trump, who recently met with Ukrainian President Volodymir Zelensky, has repeatedly said that one of his priorities after returning to the White House will be to end the war in Ukraine.
