The Giallorossi Christmas show is staged at the Olimpico. Victory, the fourth in a row at home, five goals against Parma, including two from the most discussed man of recent days: Paulo Dybala.
The Argentine scores, scores and entertains, yet the rumors of a possible farewell do not completely die out despite Ranieri's words because Galatasaray is still after the player. “We also have to understand the profession of agents, they travel around the world offering their clients as the most precious asset – the Giallorossi coach tries to explain after the match -. But we haven't received any offers for now. I know that Paulo wants to stay and he's fine with us and I'm fine with him. As Mourinho said, there is a Roma with and without Dybala.” Meanwhile, Paulo and Dovbyk see each other again on the pitch and the Giallorossi victory is born on their axis. A backheel from the Ukrainian center forward clears the Argentine who wins the penalty, which was then scored, to make it 1-0. La Joya thus returns to scoring after more than forty days given that the last goal was on 31 October, again at the Olimpico, against Torino. It is also goal number 126 in Serie A which earns him the podium, behind Crespo and Batistuta, of the Argentine scorers in the championship.
Thus he detaches Higuain and doubles his lead in the second half after a long check at the VAR for his position, assessed in the game. Dybala's brace made it 3-0 for the Giallorossi, but in the middle there was also room for Saelemaekers who in the first half took advantage of Angelino's assist to score the 2-0 and his second goal with the Giallorossi shirt. The result still goes to Roma who have at least three other scoring opportunities, two Koné (one in each half) and the other with El Shaarawy, who is hypnotized by Suzuki. Parma's reaction, however, was almost nothing, if it weren't for a shot from outside the area by Hernani, which was however well saved by Svilar. In the second half, however, it was Camara who tried, again from 25 metres, but this time it was only the crossbar that denied the Ducali the joy of the goal. In the final, then, there is also room for the four and five to zero, first on a penalty kick, this time won by Saelemakers and scored by Paredes who scores and celebrates by miming showing his belly for his arriving son.
Dovbyk closes the game, cued by Dybala. At the final whistle Ranieri is satisfied and also finds a sold out Olimpico like he hasn't seen for some time. Como's failed pass was therefore cancelled, with Roma capable of scoring 16 goals in the last four matches played in front of appropriate fans and with the coach finishing the ninety minutes without making any changes. “I just thought of giving continuity to those who were on the pitch, without upheavals. No why or how. My collaborators also asked me, I saw that they were playing well and I left them”, explains Ranieri's choice, who now wants a response even when away. “We have to wake up, it's not possible that we haven't won for eight months away from home”, the manager's battle cry. And the appointment, now, is December 29th at San Siro against Milan, then on January 5th there will be the derby with Lazio.
