There are celebrities who seem unshakable but, year after year, we realize how a protected category, so to speak, does not represent reality. Just think of the Beyoncé case. Another excellent example is that of Blake Lively.
Beloved by an entire generation for Gossip Girldespite the (understandable) dislike of many for her character, she then became a social media star, as well as a successful actress. Audiences are drawn to her story with Ryan Reynolds and their fairytale wedding. With It ends with usHowever, something has changed forever. A story that sees his as the last chapter complaint against director Justin Baldoni for sexual harassment.
Blake Lively accuses Justin Baldoni
The news of Blake Lively's complaint for sexual harassment against Justin Baldoni, director and co-star of It ends with us. Not just harassment, since the man is accused of having orchestrated a media campaign in order to ruin the actress's reputation.
The formal complaint has been filed and this is the first step towards the actual initiation of a lawsuit. Lively's lawyers report a meeting that took place during filmingin order to discuss the many problems on set.
Ryan Reynolds, husband of the actress who is also a producer in this film, was also present on that occasion. The couple had leftovers precise requests. A clear stop to discussions about genitals, pornography or sexual experiences in his presence. At the same time he would have been asked not to add more sex scenesin addition to those already approved. Other crucial points are the following:
- Nothing improvised kisses among the actors;
- stop images or videos of naked women shown on Lively.
Justin Baldoni fired
There are many problems between Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively. Something that was clear during the promotional campaign. Many suppositions on the matter and few clear truths. According to some reconstructions, the actor and director would have complained about the constant interference being post-produced by Blake Lively and her husband.
Through his lawyers, he commented on the allegations as “categorically false and outrageous”. According to him, it would be a desperate attempt to clean up his reputation. In the meantime, however, the first practical consequences for Baldoni have already occurred.
His agency, WMEmade a decision on Saturday 21 December 2024. The actor will no longer be represented by them, following the complaint filed by Blake Lively. As often happens in these circumstances, finger pointing alone is enough to make everyone take a step back, regardless of what happens during the actual lawsuit.
However, the issue is much thornier, since the same agency represents Lively, who is still part of their roster. We therefore chose to take a clear side, thus supporting the actress's claims.
The complaint contains numerous specific elements, which describe a unlivable climate on set. From the intimate scenes added to the script to the improvised kisses, as mentioned. However, there is also talk of inappropriate comments and a uninvited entry into the caravan of Lively, who was undressed at the time.
Here are the words of the latter al New York Times: “I hope that my legal action can help bring down the curtain on these sinister tactics of retaliation against those who speak out about misconduct. I hope it helps protect others who may be targeted.”
Because everyone's mad at Blake Lively
The comments on the news of Blake Lively's complaint were surprising, for those who had not followed “the previous episodes”. Many, or rather many, do not believe them. It's not a question of siding with Baldoni, but rather of being certain of having seen the true face of the actress and producer.
It all comes from the way Blake decided to promote the filman adaptation of the much-loved novel of the same name, It ends with us. A complex story, because it addresses issues such as domestic violence. Yet the joviality and the voluntary lightness of the actress have made everyone a little nervous online.
The resentment then pushed some to bring back old videos. As always happens, in fact, we delved into the depths of the web until we identified one old interview hosted by Norwegian journalist Kjersti Flaa. In this short film she is seen ignoring the interlocutor, responding sarcastically, making fun of her a little and showing disdain when asked questions about her wardrobe. A prima donna poseIn short.
Suddenly for the world Lively has become a false, snobbish, haughty person enough to be thrown off her throne. For a while Ryan Reynolds was also swept away by this storm, saved only by NSYNC's iconic ballet in Deadpool & Wolverine.
