Following the attack, the police are searching various homes in Bernburg, the city where the attacker lives. According to what was reported by the German newspaper “Mitteldeutsche Zeitung”, the attention of the investigators is an apartment building in Christianstrasse, where the man appears to have lived.
There are no Italian citizens among the confirmed victims in the attack on the Magdeburg Christmas markets, reports the Italian embassy in Berlin. “The police informed us that among the confirmed victims there are no Italians. We continue to monitor the situation of the injured but at the moment we have not had any reports among the hundreds of people we have contacted so far”, the embassy said.
“Maximum solidarity with the entire German people after the attack” said the Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, before entering the North-South summit, taking place in Saariselka, Finnish Lapland. “It's not the first time this has happened around Christmas.
