Weather Alert for the approach of storm Dionysiuswhich will cause strong bad weather from North to South. Il Air Force Meteorological Service published at 1pm today, December 19, 2024and new notice per “intense phenomena“. Below is the full text.
Weather alert, Dionisio storm arriving: new warning from the Air Force, the bulletin
“Forecast of phenomenaintense issued at 12 UTC on 12/19/24. In view of the approach of storm named Dionysus it is expected:
- from today evening, Thursday 19 December 2024, and for the following 24 hours, strong Fohn wind with gusts of gale or stormforte on the alpine areas of Aosta Valley, Piedmont, Lombardy e Trentino–South Tyrol;
- from today evening, and for the following 24 hours, strong wind from the northern quadrants with gusts of strong storm e storm surges along the exposed coasts up Liguria ed Emilia–Romagnathe latter with particular reference to the related coastal areas;
- from today’s evening, and for the next 30 hours, strong wind from the southern quadrants with gusts of strong storm e storm surges along the exposed coasts up Tuscany e Marcherotating tomorrow from the northern quadrants;
- from today’s evening, and for the next 30 hours, strong mistral wind with gusts of stormforte on the Sardinia and strong storms along the exposed coasts, with gusts intensifying until stormy tomorrow;
- from today’s evening, and for the following 42 hours, strong wind from the southern quadrants with strong storm gusts and storm surges along the exposed coasts on Abruzzo, Molise e Campaniaand for the next 48 hours on Basilicatarotating tomorrow from the northern quadrants.
From the early hours of TomorrowFriday 20 December 2024, the following are also expected:
- for the next 18 hours, strong winds from the northern quadrants with gusts of stormforte are Veneto e Friuli-Venezia Giuliaand storm surges along exposed coasts;
- for the next 24 hours, strong winds from the western quadrants with strong gale gusts up Umbria e Laziowith storm surges on the latter region, and rotating tomorrow from the northern quadrants;
- for the next 42 hours, strong winds from the western quadrants with gusts of strong storm are Calabria e Sicilyand storm surges along exposed coasts;
- for the next 24 hours, snowfalldiffuse and abundant in the Apennine areas of Marche ed Abruzzocon snow level from 500/600 metres;
- for the next 36 hours, status of mare very rough to rough over the Sardinia Sea and Channel, lower Tyrrhenian Sea and Strait of Sicily“.
