Nthey see announced the launch of a new version of its computer Jetsonnamed Orin Nano Supersold at the price of $249, half that of the previous modelwith the declared aim of attracting a wider audience, made up of hobbyists and small companies.
Jetson computers are essentially “portable brains,” designed to allow developers of robots, industrial automation and other equipment to perform complex AI operations directly on the device, without the need to connect to a remote data center.

A move in favor of accessibility
Nvidia’s main customers are usually large companies and AI startups, which invest large sums in the hardware needed to train and operate AI models. With the Jetson line, Nvidia focuses on accessibilityoffering low-cost devices to small companies, enthusiasts and students interested in developing new products with integrated AI functions.
In a promotional video, the founder of Nvidia, Jensen Huangchanged his usual presentation style: instead of posing in front of huge servers using Nvidia chips, he showed the new palm-sized Jetson devicepresenting it on a tray as if it had just been baked.
Features of the New Orin Nano Super
The new Orin Nano Super Developer Kit $249 nearly doubles the speed and efficiency of the previous device and can process about 70% more computational tasks, according to Nvidia. Although it contains less advanced chips than Nvidia’s high-end products, it is aimed at commercial developers working on consumer technologies, such as drones and cameras. The Jetson Thor high-end, however, is designed to support humanoid robots and sophisticated automation.
The NVIDIA Jetson Orin family includes seven modules with identical architecture, offering up to 275 trillion operations per second (TOPS) and 8x the performance of the last generation for multimodal AI inferenceas well as support for high-speed interfaces.
Powerful software stack includes pre-trained AI models, AI reference workflows, and vertical application frameworks, accelerating end-to-end development for generative AI, as well as any AI and edge robotics application .
Expansion of the Nvidia portfolio
Analysts suggest that the Jetson line could diversify Nvidia’s offerings, especially by attracting customers interested in developing robots. Other tech companies like Intel, Google e Qualcomm offer similar edge systems, which could compete with the Jetson by offering specific solutions for applications such as image processing.
Accelerate application development and prototyping with Jetson Orin developer kits
They are available two Jetson Orin developer kits to start developing and prototyping. The developer kit Jetson AGX Music compact offers maximum performance and can also emulate any Jetson Orin module. The developer kit Jetson Dwarf Ears it is even smaller and includes a scheda carrier reference compatible with all Orin NX and Orin Nano modules.
Interviewed about competitors, Deepu TallaNvidia’s vice president of robotics and edge computing, said the product is intended for general purposes and can run “all the latest generative AI models.”
Availability in China
Despite restrictions imposed by the United States on the sale of Nvidia’s most advanced components in China, the company said the new Jetson product will be available in the country through local distributors.
