It was in a solemn and respectful atmosphere that the change of command ceremony took place this Friday, December 13 at the Côte Bleue Est fire and rescue center (CIS) in Ensuès-la-Redonne.

This event marked the end of a chapter for Lieutenant Stéphane Rodière, who today leaves management of the center to Lieutenant 1st Class Cédric Bourgoin, but also the opportunity to celebrate Saint Barbara, patron saint of firefighters.

In front of an audience made up of local elected officials, representatives of the police, fire officers, veterans, CCFF volunteers, the Republican Guard and families, Lieutenant Stéphane Rodière officially passed the torch, after having sacrificed seven years of his life for the CIS of Côte Bleue Est. The latter was praised for his unwavering commitment and his role in the development of the center.

“Solid foundations”

His successor, Lieutenant 1st Class Cédric Bourgoin, expressed his desire to continue the efforts underway, while bringing his own vision. “You were able to build solid foundations on which we will continue to work. I sincerely thank you for this legacy that you leave. I am honored to continue the path you have traced” he said of his predecessor.
