The MG brand has a series of new products and it is the compact SUV MG ZS second generation which is showing the end of its hood under which we find the self-recharging Hybrid+ engine which allows electric driving up to 60 km/h as much as possible.
Given its excellent price/quality/services ratio (from 22,900 euros), the ZS Hybrid+ appears to be the direct competitor of the Dacia Duster 3 Hybrid before the entry on the scene of the next Citroën C3 Aircross.
MG ZS Hybrid+: real progress in perceived quality
With its style with more expressive lines and a lighting signature also reworked, the ZS Hybrid+ asserts itself even more on the road as it has gained centimeters, which makes it more robust in its attitude. 4.43 m long, 1.81 m wide and 1.63 m high, it displays beautiful proportions.
In the passenger compartmentthe dashboard presents well with real efforts on ergonomics, equipment and even the finish with foamed plastic on the top and fabric on the central strip. The MG ZS Hybrid+ also benefits from the latest generation of equipment with a graphically pleasing digital dashboard and a new generation infotainment system with 12.3” screen (10.25” at entry level).
Well organized at first glance, this system nevertheless suffers from a certain slowness due to the numerous submenus. We get a little lost all the same. Despite this shortcoming, it offers everything you would expect from a family compact SUV with space on board, a good trunk and a neat presentation, which for this price level seems surprising. Ah the secrets of the Middle Kingdom!
Low consumption, the ZS Hybrid+ is a champion!
On the road and apart from a driving position that is not obvious due to the absence of depth adjustment of the steering wheel, the ZS Hybrid+ makes consumption his major argument.
The driving sensations are not there and this is not the primary objective, on the other hand in terms of being at the top in terms of efficiency, the Hybrid+ engine made up of an atmo 4-cylinder gasoline unit 1.5 102 hp coupled with a 136 hp electric motor, a 1.83 kWh battery and a 3-speed automatic gearbox, for a cumulative power of 197 hp, works wonders with an average consumption around of 5.0/100 km.
In use, it is ultra efficient and smooth, especially since the MG ZS only weighs 1.4 tonnes.
