The winner of the Dominique D’Onofrio Prize is known

This Monday, Nicky Hayen was awarded the Raymond Goethals Trophy which rewards the best Belgian coach of the season.

Joaquin Seys

However, the Club Brugge coach is not the only Bruges player to have been rewarded this Monday. Indeed, Joaquin Seys received the Dominique D’Onofrio Prize. This award is intended for the best beginner in the Jupiler Pro League (not over 20 years old as of December 31).

The 19-year-old left back was preferred to Marwan Al-Sahafi (Beerschot) and Konstantinos Karetsas (Genk). As a reminder, Arthur Vermeeren was the winner in 2023.

An impressive start to the season

Since the start of the season, Seys has had a string of good performances (25 matches, 2 goals), whether in the championship or the Champions League. He should have even celebrated his first selection for the Red Devils in November, but an injury prevented him from joining the national team.
