TotalEnergies sells 50% of its shares in a gas power plant in the United Kingdom

(AOF) – TotalEnergies announces the sale to Epuki, the British subsidiary of EPH, of 50% of its shares in West Burton Energy, a company acquired 100% by the company in June 2024 with the announced intention of reselling half . West Burton Energy has a 1.3GW combined cycle gas plant and a 49MW battery storage system in the UK. The plant will be operated by the joint venture between TotalEnergies and Epuki.

“Through this transaction, we are scaling our net flexible generation capacity to 700 MW, which is consistent with the capacity required to support our growth in renewable energy in the UK. This integration between our flexible and renewable assets will contribute to our objective of achieving 12% profitability by 2030 on our Integrated Power activity”, declared Sophie Chevalier, flexible power & integration director at TotalEnergies.
