TESTIMONY. “I am a nurse and what I saw convinced me that there was life after death”

What happens after death? A question that fascinates some and terrifies others. There is no shortage of theories on this subject, and Penny Smith, an American nurse 62 years old, is convinced of one thing: according to her, there is life after death. The latter, followed by no less than 410,000 subscribers on Instagram (and more than 875,000 on Tik Tok) has even published a book, Influencing Death:
Reframing Dying for Better Living
in which she confides on this vast subject.

“I have seen patients so convinced…”

It must be said that through her profession, Penny Smith has often been confronted with the death of her patients, and she has observed a common point in many cases. “It is very common for a person about to die says she sees her deceased loved ones or even her pets”, she explains. “Sometimes it happens in dreams, sometimes it’s right in front of them. Time and time again, I have seen patients so convinced they were being visited by the spirits of their deceased loved ones that it convinced me they really were.”, specifies Penny Smith.

For the nurse, everything was confirmed the day she experienced it herself. The latter was not dying however, but simply asleep, for about a week
after the death of his father. A vision that seemed “very real” pour Penny Smith. “While I was sleeping I dreamed of my father”, she writes.

“He told me he would always be with me”

Although I can only describe it as a dream, it was much, much more. My father came to me surrounded by a bright light, wearing his famous smile, and I could feel his love envelope me. He was so happy that he beamed with joy”, remembers the nurse. He told me he would always be with me and hugged me. “I love you, it’s okay, darling. I love you, everything is fine’, I cried tears of happiness and sadness at the same time”.

A particularly striking experience which finally convinced Penny Smith of the existence of life after death. “So, is there life after death?” she asks in her book. “As far as I’m concerned, yes. Because my father told me there was one”.
