Collection of hot meals
First stop of the day, this downtown preschool that prepares meals. And in the kitchens, we are delighted with this new initiative. “It saves time for schools, they get their hot meals on time.”Ludovic Denis – Cook at the Molière school
Once the meals have been collected, they are loaded into trailers where very specific logistics are put in place. “There, we will connect the boxes to external batteries so that they keep the temperature, either hot or cold”. Louis Mauger – Co-manager of Toutenvélo
Canteen meals are delivered by bike, it saves time and is good for the planet
An ecological initiative
The Toutenvélo company travels the streets of the city center every day, replacing the usual delivery trucks. “It was a need of the city, moving meals from the central kitchen to schools that do not have kitchens within their establishment. The objective was to offer a reliable logistics solution, with a more interesting environmental impact..”Louis Mauger – Co-manager of Toutenvélo
A top carbon footprint
Fifteen kilometers traveled per day, 200 students on full stomachs and a carbon footprint close to zero for the same thing. It’s a matter between the company and the city of Le Havre. “It’s a responsible way of working. We are decarbonizing, and what’s more, we realized that, for a question of safety, it was also much better than trucks.”Oumou Niang-Fouquet – Deputy Mayor
From January 2025, this delivery service will be extended to the entire city.
