Aryzta boss plans to pass on price increases

Zurich (awp) – Aryzta increased its sales volumes during the year, but had to lower its prices as inflation fell. His boss Urs Jordi intends to remedy this. “We no longer grant price reductions, because most raw materials have not become cheaper, some are even more expensive,” he explained to AWP.

He is confident he can impose higher prices during contract negotiations with his clients. “In the medium and long term, prices will rather increase,” he believes.

The man who took over the helm of the then heavily indebted food company four years ago believes that the manufacturer of baked goods and pastries is once again “stable and healthy”.

Mr. Jordi, who will hand over his position in January to Michael Schai and concentrate on his mandate as president, believes that turnover and profit are evolving “in the right direction”. He notes, however, that in terms of artificial intelligence, despite the launch of a few projects, Aryzta is “one to two years behind”.
