Who is Pierre-François Martin-Laval?
Pierre-François Martin-Laval, nicknamed Pef, is a French actor, director and screenwriter born June 25, 1968 in Marseille. He became known with the Robins des Bois comedy troupe, famous for his absurd sketches in La Grosse Émission on Canal+ in the 1990s-2000s. His offbeat humor and his clumsy character play quickly propelled him among the essential figures of French comedy. In the cinema, he starred in numerous humorous films while launching into directing with works like Essaye-moi (2006) and the popular successes Les Profs (2013) and Les Profs 2 (2015).
In addition to his comedic talent, Pef has shown a sensitivity for more serious subjects, such as in Fahim (2019), a moving story inspired by true events. As a director, he often combines light humor with human and touching themes. His varied career and artistic versatility make him a notable personality in French cinema and comedy.
