After regaining victory last week, RWDM had to confirm in a high-stakes match since Club NXT, 5thcould return to the level of the RWDM in the event of victory. Molenbeek started the match with a change in the starting 11, since Kestens was the starter.
The RWDM put their foot on the ball from the start and displayed an offensive mentality from the start. After 22 minutes, Ziani threw himself at the far post to catch a cross from Halifa. He propelled the ball into the roof of the goal to make it 1-0.
A few moments later, Sambu Marsoni was brought down in the area after a nice hook on his defender, but the referee saw it as a simulation and therefore gave Sambu Marsoni a yellow. The score did not change again before half-time, and the RWDM returned to the locker room with a short lead.
Upon returning from the locker room, the trend reversed and it was the young Bruges players who proved to be the most dangerous. However, Poku would quickly double the lead but his goal was canceled for a foul by Parzyszek. Jacob Montes and Noah Dodeigne entered the game. Club Brugge pushed to equalize, but the RWDM defense held firm. Sapata and Preijs entered the game in the final moments, but the scorer no longer moved: the RWDM won 1-0 in a complicated match, and should end the year in style against La Louvière, direct competitor, next Saturday.
