The life-size Advent calendar in Barbazan is arousing general interest in the village after an initial success last winter.
Among many people, there is the casino, happy to participate. Organized by the Comminge Solidarity association in partnership with the parents’ association, the municipality and the Ideal 31 association, the number assigned to the casino is therefore 7: lucky number, symbol of the jackpot, prosperity and fortune! And yes, the appearance of three 7s on the reels often means the highest win, making it a symbol sought after by players.
Thus, the number 7 was made at the casino by Dominique Michel, one of the establishment’s staff, with holly and snowflakes cut by the teams from cartons of fruit juice.
In practice, from December 1 to 24, 2024, ideally in all neighborhoods of the village, 24 houses, front doors, gates or others will be decorated by people wishing to participate in this project.
Every day or once a week, children alone, with their families or in groups are invited to search for the 24 numbers until Santa Claus comes.
The participants’ job is to decorate their front door, their gate… With the large format number of the chosen day, to use recyclable or natural materials preferably, resistant to bad weather, to decorate in a way that is visible from the street of so that everyone can spot and photograph the number spotted. Please note that the decorations must remain in place throughout the month of December.
