She would have loved to win the crown at home, forty-seven years after Véronique Fagot's coronation. And this a few weeks after having gleaned his regional title at the Futuroscope park. Unfortunately, Charlie Bénard, Miss Poitou-Charentes 2024, will not have made it past the semi-finals during the Miss France 2025 national competition, Saturday December 14, 2024 at the Arena Futuroscope.
“Persistent” and “sometimes stubborn”
The 27-year-old Charentaise, who was not available to react following the election, can nevertheless console herself: she won the Miss academy prize. A symbolic scarf which, according to its regional support committee, “rewards your investment throughout the adventure”.
A symbolic distinction for the intern in general medicine at the Angoulême hospital, which was particularly supported by the public until its elimination. The young woman received a standing ovation during her appearance in an evening dress and during the broadcast of her video portrait on the big screen. A sequence during which Charlie Bénard declared that he was “persistent and sometimes stubborn”. The candidate also confided that she “always wanted to help people” and was confronted with “the difficult reality of women victims of domestic violence”.
A nod to Futuroscope
At the same time, Miss Poitou-Charentes participated in a dance performance, donning a disco outfit for the occasion. Like all the contenders, she paraded in a swimsuit, then in regional costume.
During this fashion show, recorded the day before, Charlie Bénard wore a dress surrounded by rings recalling the architecture of Futuroscope. A creation made by Thomas Lamy, a master's student in interior architecture and luxury scenography in Angoulême. It was the Charentaise who took center stage to conclude this highlight of the ceremony.
