His life has just taken a new turn. At 34, Angélique Angarni-Filopon was elected Miss France 2025, during the ceremony organized at the Arena Futuroscope in Poitiers. In front of a 100% female jury, Miss Martinique 2024 was able to show what she was capable of. Having convinced Sylvie Vartan, the president of the jury, this was not the case for the viewers. Indeed, it was her first runner-up, Sabah Aib, Miss Nord-pas-de-Calais who dazzled the public. A big favorite of viewers, the young woman actually received more votes from the French people behind their television screens. It must be said that his journey has moved many people.
Sabah Aib, Miss Nord-Pas-de-Calais, favorite for the election, victim of racism
At 18, this second-year law student was the target of racism. “France is a multicultural country and having a name that comes from elsewhere does not change the fact that I am French. My election is proof that our region is rich in diversity and values, and I am proud to represent it.” said the young woman from Algeria, on her Instagram account. Having been the victim of harassment, Sabah Aib, who is therefore one of the big favorites, wanted to advocate “Benevolence above all, kindness and humor too! I am a very empathetic person, who hates injustice. I would like this image a lot.” But Angélique Angarni-Filopon came in second position, followed by Miss Guadeloupe, Miss Corsica and Miss Côte d’Azur.
But like every year, the nomination of the elected Miss France is based on a perfect balance between the votes of the public, which represent 50% of the final score, and those of the jury, which complete the other half. Thus, Angélique Angarni-Filopon managed to win against Miss Nord-Pas-de-Calais. An honor for this 34-year-old flight attendant. Indeed, the young woman wishes to speak and represent “all the women who were once told it was too late”. Having already participated in the competition 13 years ago, the one who measures 1.83 m, wants to use her notoriety to advance the causes that are close to her heart. The new Miss France hopes to become a model for many women: “You would be surprised to see the number of messages I receive from women who want to change their career, who think it is too late to change jobs, change countries, change lives… No, it is never too late, and I am living proof!”she slipped to our colleagues at Paris-Match.
Angélique Angarni-Filopon was the second favorite Miss of viewers
And there is no question for her that we categorize her only because she is the first Miss France to be elected when she is over 30 years old: “People are constantly reminded of my age and I think I’m well preserved,” she says, laughing. “34 is young! The twenties are not that far away. And I was warned, the thirties are are the best years and I confirm it to you”. Moreover, Angélique Angarni-Filopon feels much more fulfilled today than a few years ago: “My twenties were the period when I searched a lot for myself, when I wanted to be like everyone else and ten years ago, I cut my hair. But my short hair, like my age, does not absolutely don’t define me. I have great energy, I don’t know how to do anything other than smile and we’re going to have an incredible year, you’ll see.” That’s what it says!
