It was one of the cases that shocked the city of Sedan (Ardennes) and France. Loana, a 10-year-old girl, was kidnapped, raped and then killed in a cellar on rue Saint-Michel, on Wednesday October 18, 2023. Her alleged murderer was imprisoned and placed in pre-trial detention since, for murder and rape of a minor under 15 years old.
On Sunday December 15, 2024, relatives of the family decided to organize a new white march in tribute to the little girl, who would have celebrated her 12th birthday that day. This gathering follows the one organized on Sunday October 29, 2023, a march which brought together nearly 500 people at the time.

Departing from Place d'Alsace-Lorraine at 3 p.m., a procession of around sixty people gathered to honor the memory of Loana. They roamed the streets of downtown Sedan. The white march ended on Place Turennes an hour later, with a release of balloons accompanied by a note written by the participants in this tribute.

“It’s always difficult”
Marine is one of the organizers of this march which she leads through the streets of the Ardennes town. It is she too, who microphone in hand, pays tribute to Loana and her mother who died suddenly last June. Jean-Jacques Goldman's song “Puisque tu pars” resonates as she delivers her speech “here are balloons with little words to show our love”beside her, Loana's dad can't hold back his tears.

The emotion is strong and it has won over all the participants of the march as it did for Edwige. Her daughter was a very close friend of Loana, they were in the same college so it was unthinkable not to be there, “it was important for my daughter, for everyone, for all mothers”.
