On July 16, 2023, Jane Birkin died at her home at the age of 76. The cinema and fashion icon has a huge void in the hearts of his fans but also of his two daughters Charlotte Gainsbourg and Lou Doillon. His third daughter, Kate Barry, died in 2013 after falling from the fourth floor of her apartment. After the singer’s death, an intimate ceremony took place at the Saint-Roch church to pay her last respects. This Saturday, December 14, Jane Birkin would have celebrated her 78th birthday. For the occasion, his daughter Lou Doillon wanted to send him a tender tribute on her Instagram account.
In an Instagram story, she shared a black and white photo of Jane Birkin. “Happy Birthday mom,” she wrote in the caption. Lou Doillon also revealed a photo in which the actress poses with a cigarette in her mouth. Since the death of his mother, Lou Doillon has felt immense grief. Last July, she spoke about this period of mourning. “One year soon, one year already, all the birthdays of the first year, already sung, that’s already it. Mom, in this year of hell, I’m already getting used to it. We will stand, my man, my sons and I. Love is everything,” she wrote.

A difficult mourning for Lou Doillon
To commemorate one year since his death on July 16, Lou Doillon took over his Instagram account.
