The new beauty queen of 2025 will be crowned this Saturday evening from Futuroscope in (Vienna). For the first time in the history of the competition, a thirty-year-old is among the thirty candidates: Angélique Angarni-Filopon.

Who will succeed Miss 2024? Always in the crosshairs of feminist associations denouncing a “misogynistic and old-fashioned” tradition, the Miss France election continues its transformation with, for its 95th edition, the lifting in principle of all age limits. Thus, for the first time in history, a candidate in her thirties will be able to compete among the 30 others.

Flight attendant in the city, Angélique Angarni-Filopon, 34 years old, Miss 2024, is in fact the “eldest” of the contenders. After failing thirteen years ago in the Miss Martinique election, the one who defines herself as an “eternal child” wants to show that dreams have no age. Miss France, “it’s a real woman’s desire,” she said in the columns of Le Parisien.

Previously, Miss France was not allowed to exceed the age of 24. This year, however, the candidacy of a 52-year-old woman did not go beyond the regional level. In addition, since 2022, the competition has also been open to married or partnered women, including mothers.

The overhaul of the regulations also allows applications from transgender women “with change of marital status”. According to the organizers, only one reported case occurred during the Miss election in 2022.

Chaired this year by the singer Sylvie Vartan, the once again 100% female jury brings together the Olympic champion Marie-José Pérec, the host and stylist Cristina Cordula, the dancer Fauve Hautot, the comedian Nawell Madani, the pianist Khatia Buniatishvili and the ex-Miss France Flora Coquerel.

Enlisted for the thirtieth consecutive time, the unmistakable Jean-Pierre Foucault, 77 years old, will for his part present the ceremony which will have the theme “the grand ball of Misses”, with around ten scenes from the twist to the tango in passing by country, disco and classical dance.
