Tunisia – Misappropriation of funds from STEG: the company takes firm measures

The Tunisian Electricity and Gas Company (STEG) announced, in a press release published Friday, that following the decision of the public prosecutor to place certain agents and employees in custody on suspicion of embezzlement of public funds , an internal audit was immediately launched. The company specifies that it has taken all the necessary legal measures.

STEG reaffirms its commitment to the fight against abuses and violations of the law, stressing that it is increasing its efforts to prevent and combat such transgressions.

She also reiterated her determination to protect public funds, preserve the national interest and transmit all cases of violation of the law to the judiciary, in support of national efforts to fight corruption.
