While the winner of the 2024 African Ballon d’Or will be known next Monday, the press would have already spilled the beans three days before the ceremony.

The five finalists are Achraf Hakimi (MoroccoPSG), Serhou Guirassy (GuineaStuttgart/Dortmund), Ademola Lookman (NigeriaAtalanta), Ronwen Williams (South AfricaMamelodi Sundowns) et Simon Adingra (Ivory CoastBrighton).

Namely Player of the Year, Goalkeeper of the Year, Interclub Player of the Year, Coach of the Year, Club of the Year, and National Team of the Year. Only the Young Player of the Yearwhich is played between the two Ivorians Karim Konaté and Oumar Diakité, and the Senegalese Lamine Camara, was not mentioned.
Hakimi announced winner of the African Ballon d’Or
According to the journalist, it is the Moroccan Achraf Hakimi who would have received the favors of the votes concerning the African Ballon d’Or. Ivory Coast would unsurprisingly be crowned National Team of the Year, thanks to its legendary victory at CAN 2023. Ronwen Williams should be crowned Goalkeeper of the Year, ahead of Cameroonian André Onana (Manchester United) and the Ivorian Yahia Fofana (Angers SCO).
Finally, the Club of the Year and Interclub Player of the Year awards would go to Al Ahly and their winger Hussein El Shahat respectively. Note that the Cairotes face Mexican team Pachuca this Saturday in Doha for a place in the Intercontinental Cup final against Real Madrid.
