The PSG press release after the decision of the disciplinary committee:
“We are very satisfied that the Disciplinary Committee has decided not to sanction Paris Saint-Germain as requested by the player. By declaring his request inadmissible, the Disciplinary Committee puts an end to this sequence which has lasted too long .
After initially hearing the parties' arguments on September 11, the LFP Legal Commission made up of 18 people repeatedly insisted on the need for mediation between the player and Paris Saint-Germain to find a compromise, at the light of the clear arguments of PSG. The mediation process having been completely rejected by the player, the Legal Commission decided to stick only to the contract approved by itself, and not to take into account the other agreements concluded between the Player and the Club. What remains under debate, and should be examined by the Industrial Tribunal, is that the approved contract was legally modified by mutual agreement in August 2023 for the 2023/2024 season. This modification was confirmed several times by the player, notably in January 2024, before he decided once the season was over to return to all his commitments.
If the player unfortunately persists in not respecting his commitments and continuing this dispute before the Industrial Tribunal in an incomprehensible and damaging manner, for himself and for French football, the Club stands ready to fully expose the situation before the competent court. In law and in fact, the player has made clear and repeated public and private commitments which the Club simply asks that he honor, after having benefited from unprecedented advantages from the Club for 7 years in Paris.
Fundamentally, it is a question of good faith, honesty, maintaining values and respect for the Parisian institution and its supporters, which is more important than any player.
