SNCF STRIKE. This Thursday, December 12, a social movement called by two SNCF unions is disrupting RER and Transiliens traffic in the suburbs of Paris as well as TER trains in the regions. Follow traffic forecasts with us.
The strike to protest against the dismantling of SNCF Freight, although maintained by two of the four organizations initially involved: the CGT-Cheminots and Sud Rail, was ultimately little followed. The strike movement begins at 7 p.m. this Wednesday, with RER and Transilien lines in the Paris suburbs particularly affected.
However, SNCF management announced “normal” traffic on the TGV and Ouigo lines, and only slight disruptions on the TER. Find below or using the summary opposite, the disturbances line by line.

12:43 – A much weaker mobilization than expected
The national social movement scheduled for tomorrow, this Thursday, December 12, 2024, in protest of the dismantling of Fret SNCF, will ultimately not be followed much. Two unions originally involved, Unsa and CFDT, withdrew their appeal after an agreement with the management of the railway group on the future of the 4,500 employees transferred on January 1 to two new companies, Hexafret and Technis. If for the CGT and SUD-Rail, the proposals remain “insufficient”, requiring “a new meeting with the SNCF management before or during the strike”, “the black December and the social winter resulting from a convergence of categorical struggles that certain catastrophic scenarios predicted could have been avoided” announced for his part the Minister of Transport François Durovray.
