A 6.35 caliber pistol

Thursday morning, Attorney General François Demoulin will also defend the theory of murder, while Me Lauvaux, for the defense, announced Monday that he would ask to reclassify the facts as manslaughter for lack of foresight or precaution.

His client maintains that he wanted to get rid of a weapon, a 6.35 caliber pistol purchased a week earlier in Charleroi. He showed up at his friend Ali’s house unexpectedly, as he often does, and showed the weapon to Valério Bouteiller, who was working on a car. He said Valério wanted to play, asking him to shoot him. The accused maintains that the shot was fired accidentally, unaware that the weapon was loaded.

Instead of calling for help, Tigran and Ali put the victim in a car and dropped him off at the emergency room of Marie Curie hospital in Charleroi. They then fled, only to return two hours later. Questioned by the police, Tigran first declared that he had found Valério unconscious, in a vacant lot. He then confessed, after his friend’s testimony, stating that the shooting was accidental.

According to those close to him, the accused is having a very difficult time with the situation, especially since he apparently had no motive to kill Valério. However, his version does not fit with the forensic findings concerning the distance and trajectory of the shot.
