It runs almost 24 hours a day: the Post Office logistics platform in Vendenheim is experiencing a peak in activitylike every year during the months of November and December with the preparation of the end-of-year celebrations. The site, like the three other Post Office platforms in Alsace, is transformed into an annex to Santa's workshops.

“At this time of year, we process around 12 to 13 thousand packages per day”notes Jean Charles Brouard, the site manager. More than 80 people work on the platform every day. “The night shift sorts the packages that arrive, from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., and then the delivery men take over to classify the packages in their van, and deliver them throughout northern Alsace.” Around twenty vans leave every day.

La Poste, one of the leaders in the parcel market

“Currently, no one is taking leave”underlines Jessica Ruesz, team manager. “Everyone is motivated to get the presents under the tree.” And the results are there. La Poste is one of the leaders in the parcel delivery market. “Even Amazon, which is one of our competitors, is also a customer.”
