From Brittany to the Mediterranean, the sky is starting to clear. However, the cold persists.
After a morning marked by freezing fog and low clouds, the sun managed to assert itself in several regions throughout the day. However, temperatures remain wintery and weather conditions are deteriorating in the south, particularly in Roussillon, announces The Weather Channel* .
Morning: overcast sky between the northeast and the center-east
The day begins with sometimes freezing fog between the northeast and the center-east. In the south, the sky is generally clear, except around the Gulf of Lion and in Corsica. Rain even occurs in Roussillon. Temperatures fluctuate between – 4°C and 13°C.
Afternoon: the sun gains ground
As the hours pass, the gray weather dissipates, but remains in certain valleys such as the Loire Valley or the Saône Valley. In the south, the weather deteriorates significantly in Roussillon, where the rains are more sustained and sometimes stormy. In Corsica, a few showers are also expected. Throughout France, temperatures range from 9°C to 19°C.
Evening: instability in the Mediterranean and fog in the north
The evening is marked by unstable weather around the Mediterranean, with sometimes stormy showers, particularly in Roussillon. Elsewhere, calm prevails despite the reappearance of low clouds and fog in the north and center-east.
Trend for the following days: cold and Mediterranean degradation
On Friday, weather conditions will deteriorate further around the Mediterranean, with rain and snow in the mountains at mid-altitude. In other regions, the weather will remain dry but often gray north of the Loire, under persistent low clouds. Frosts will be more widespread in the northern half, accentuating the winter feeling.
