According to the Russian Defense Ministry, Ukrainian forces targeted an airfield in Taganrog in southern Russia on Wednesday using American ATACMS missiles. He warned that this “attack using Western long-range missiles will not go unanswered.”

“This attack using Western long-range missiles will not go unanswered,” warned the Russian Defense Ministry. A warning that echoes the position of Russian President Vladimir Putin, who presented Ukrainian attacks against Russian soil with Western weapons as a red line.

A senior American official warned on Wednesday, on condition of anonymity, that Moscow could strike Ukraine with an Orechnik missile “in the coming days.”
