The autopsy on the body of Barbara, this 24-year-old young woman found dead in her apartment in the inner city of Avignon, was carried out this Wednesday. She reveals that the victim is probably strangled to deathbut it also excludes the possibility of sexual violence that was once considered.
The body of the young woman was discovered by emergency services on Tuesday morning. She was lying on the floor of her studio, rue de la Balance, near the Place de l'Horloge. The victim showed signs of swelling on her face and was partially undressed, which initially suggested that she may have been a victim of rape. The autopsy therefore rules out this last hypothesis for the moment, and the investigation by the Avignon public prosecutor's office has been reclassified as “murder, acts of torture and barbarity by an organized gang”.
The circumstances remain to be precisely established. At this point it seems that the young woman regularly used several types of drugsand that she consumed it at home this weekend, with other people. DNA samples are being taken in the studio to try to identify them. The young woman had also been followed since adolescence for schizophrenia. Those close to him initially thought it was a crisis at the start of the week. But having no further news, they alerted the emergency services who discovered the body on Tuesday.
