The video game saga will continue to expand its universe thanks to the know-how of the Aardman studio, known for its work on Chicken Run or Wallace et Gromitnotably. Pokémon will therefore be entitled to a new adaptation, rather secret for the moment.

This is the slightly crazy dream that could come true with a project surrounded by mysteries, bringing together the Nintendo video game saga and the Aardman studio, specialized in stop-motion animation, using modeling clay, and which has already existed more than fifty years.
A “special project” for Pokémon and Aardman
It was through a somewhat cryptic video that the announcement was posted online. In a post published on December 11 on X (formerly Twitter), the Aardman studio (Chicken Run, Wallace et Gromit, Shaun the Sheep) thus revealed its future collaboration with Pokémonwith a simple animation representing two balls of red and white dough coming together to form a Pokéball.
For the moment, no details have been revealed about this mystery creation. We only know that it is a “special project”without the contours being well defined at present. Will it be a feature film, a series or a completely different production? In a quote taken up by the American media Variety, Aardman promises in any case to provide its “narrative style unique to the Pokémon universe in all new adventures”.

Taito Okiura, Pokémon’s marketing and media representative, for his part, described this partnership as a ” dream “ for the brand: “Aardman are masters in their field and we have been impressed by their talent and creativity. Our joint project will really spoil our Pokémon fans around the world! »
But to discover Pikachu in the form of modeling clay, you will have to be patient: this famous production should only be revealed in 2027. Variety also specifies that this collaboration should a priori see the light of day on Netflix, since Pokémon like Aardman have signed contracts with the streaming platform.
A first stop-motion series in the world of video games, called The Pokémon Receptionisthad already been put online on Netflix in 2023. Aardman, for its part, is more used to working on characters specially created by them, despite some participation in franchises like for season 2 of Star Wars : Visions.
