David Gaudu will attempt a great challenge. After a delicate season, the Groupama-FDJ climber hopes to relaunch in 2025, riding on his fine sixth place during the last Vuelta. Disappointing during the last Tour de France, with a sad 65th place, the 28-year-old rider decided to participate in the Tour of Italy for the first time in his career, next May, as reported West France. The Breton will therefore continue with the Tour de France a few weeks later.
It remains to be seen whether this bet will pay off for David Gaudu, who will have to be able to manage these two events. Although he has overtaken the Tour de France and the Vuelta on several occasions, he has never before participated in the Tour of Italy. The example of Tadej Pogacar, winner of the double last season for the first time since 1998, or of Romain Bardet, at ease during the two Tours, perhaps gave ideas to Marc Madiot and Groupama- FDJ.
