Another excellent performance from Leafs goalie Anthony Stolarz who blocked 37 shots including 16 in the first period. Meanwhile, Jacob Markstrom faced 16 shots, including only one in the first twenty.
The Devils’ domination was finally confirmed by Ondrej Palat’s opening score in the second half. Unfortunately for the locals, they played sluggishly with the numerical advantage and saw Pontus Holmberg equalize in the last third. It was ultimately Auston Matthews who gave Toronto the victory in overtime.
The Swiss’ record was not extraordinary since they did not obtain any points. Nico Hischier (22’29 ») et Jonas Siegenthaler (17’06”) finished with a neutral record while Timo Meier (18’27”) finished with a differential of -1.
NY Islanders – Los Angeles : 1-3 (0-1, 1-1, 0-1)
Sixth success in a row for the Kings who dominated the Islanders at the UBS Arena. Goaltender Darcy Kuemper blocked 19 of 20 shots faced.
The attacker Kevin Wallflower (19’39”) scored his 10th goal of the campaign, making it 2-0. He finished with the first star of the match.
Adrian Kempe and Mikey Anderson also scored for the Kings while captain Anders Lee was the only scorer for the Islanders.
Nashville – Calgary: 3-4 (2-1, 1-3, 0-0)
In addition to losing their game, the Predators especially lost the services of Roman to sew. The Bernese had to leave the match in the first period after being hit in the lower body.
The Predators took the lead three times through Jonathan Marchessault (2x) and Tommy Novak but Calgary equalized through Nazme Kadri, Kevin Rooney and Brayden Pachal. At the end of the match, during a power play Jonathan Huberdeau condemned the Predators to an 8th straight defeat and probably head coach Andrew Brunette to pack his bags.
Winnipeg – Boston: 8-1 (2-0, 1-1, 5-0)
Humiliating defeat for the Bruins who visited the Jets at the Canada Life Centre. Forward Mark Scheifele scored twice and had an assist in this correction.
Vladislav Namestnikov, Mark Scheifele (2x), Kyle Connor, Gabriel Vilardi, Alex Iafallo, Mason Appleton and Nikita Chibrikov all scored for the Jets. Opposite, only David Pastrnak, with his 10th of the season, was able to beat Connor Hellebuyck.
The attacker Nino Niederreiter finished with an assist. He played for 15’24” for a record of +1.
Edmonton – Tampa Bay: 2-1 (1-0, 1-1, 0-0)
The Oilers stars were there with a 20th goal for Leon Draisaitl. On this goal, he benefited from the involuntary help of defender Victor Hedman who pushed the puck into his own goal.
