A resident of Chanu (Orne) was sentenced this Friday, December 6, 2024 by the Argentan judicial court for having uttered, as a repeat offender, death threats towards his ex-partner.
For him, this woman deprives him of his child and absolutely does not see in these messages a trace of threat, but rather difficulty expressing oneself.
“My son is my whole life”
On April 6, 2023, a woman filed a complaint against her ex-partner for death threats thathe would have uttered against him.
You're up to your neck in shit, you know that my son is my whole life, you're dead soon.
She explains that he is not satisfied not to see his son, but a court decision had given him custody of the child.
It would not be not the first time that she filed a complaint against her ex-partner, mainly for violence.
Present at the hearing, the man will declare that the messages he sent are not threats. “So, what do you think of these messages? », asks the president. Response from the defendant: “ I don't think anything of it, Maybe I’m expressing myself wrong.”
He specifies that his son's mother is very manipulative and liar.
Several convictions on his record
Several convictions appear on his criminal record for insults and acts related to drugs, the last conviction of which was handed down this year. “These convictions are behind me. Today, I have a child and I am doing everything to move forward,” reacted the defendant.
Today, we can only see the defendant's improvement, his better form. He is no longer the one we met in the past, but who still has difficulty controlling himself.
The latter required, in repression, a course of accountability for the prevention and fight againstviolence within the couple within six months or two months in prison in the event of non-execution.
For the defense, the offense is not constituted. “These are my client’s words, this is his way of expressing himself”; before pleading for exemption from sentence.
The court will ultimately follow the public prosecutor's requisitions.
