Ouch, ouch, ouch, we don't really know why (even if we have our own idea), but things are going to be complicated for Intel in the graphics card sector. If we had an overview of the Spanish prices of the Arc B580, this time the French prices are starting to appear. Clearly, we weren't expecting that!
Arc B580: €360 at the very least!
Currently, we only find two B580 models on the market: ASRock's Steel Legend and Challenger versions. Moreover, despite the visible difference in quality between the two cards, the bill remains very close: only €10. Honestly, you might as well go with the Steel Legend model given the low additional cost presented. However, what makes this Intel card position itself as a false good deal is the prices charged. Count on €359.95 for the B580 Challenger compared to €369.95 for the Steel Legend version. Well, these are the prices of the LDLC group, but this already gives an idea of the final bill for the products! On Amazon, it's even worse, but it's an imported product.
With these cards, remember that we are dealing with entry-level models, which compete with NVIDIA's RTX 4060. Again, even if the map shows 50% of VRAM in addition and announced performance superior to the chameleon card, honestly, we do not think that this is enough to make the difference, NVIDIA is too anchored in consumer habits.
Unfortunately, we think Intel is missing something; if the card ended up below €300, it could have generated serious excitement. Remember that RTX 4060s can be found around €300, certainly entry-level models, but still €300.

As we see things, tomorrow, during the launch, Intel risks selling a little bit, since the launch risks generating a certain amount of enthusiasm and the card risks being quickly forgotten. Then, to revive interest in this model, the brand will have to lower prices. Especially since the performance advantage over NVIDIA as presented (to see if it materializes in the tests), risks quickly diminishing with the launch of Blackwell.
In short, all this does not seem particularly good for the blues between the accumulated delay and the prices which do not really distinguish them, they are not likely to increase their market shares.
