They came in large numbers this Tuesday, in front of the Tel Aviv court. Some expressing their supportothers anger against Benjamin Netanyahu. The Prime Minister must answer forfraud charges andbreach of trust in three separate cases. He is accused of having accepted wine bribesdozens of thousands of dollars worth of cigars and champagne in exchange for his help with personal and business interests.
Netanyahu would also have favored a advantageous regulation for big media bosses in exchange for favorable coverage of his activities and those of his family.
Confident despite accusations
Appearing at ease During his first testimony, Netanyahu denied the facts with which he is accused, affirming that these accusations were part of a witch hunt orchestrated by hostile media and a biased justice systemeager to overthrow his regime, which he exercised for many years.
This high-profile trial will keep the country in suspense for several weeks, while Benjamin Netanyahu is also targeted by a international arrest warrant issued by the ICC.
