Achraf Hakimi shone at the 2024 Olympics with Morocco.
One more distinction for Achraf Hakimi. The Paris Saint-Germain defender and vice-captain of the Moroccan national team won the 2024 Golden Lion, a trophy awarded to the best African player of the year by the newspaper Almountakhab. At 26, he becomes the second Moroccan to win this trophy after Yassine Bounou in 2023.
A reward for Hakimi for his performances with PSG, but also the national selection with which he won the bronze medal at the 2024 Olympics. The Moroccan largely dominated the votes with 162 points, ahead of Nigerian international Ademola Lookman (96 points) and his Moroccan compatriot Soufiane Rahimi (90 points).
