Two college students are being prosecuted for “death threats” sent online last week to teachers at a Lyon college, AFP reveals this Monday, December 9, 2024 according to corroborating sources. Aged 13 and 14, they were arrested on Friday December 6 and presented this Sunday to a children’s judge, according to the Lyon prosecutor’s office.
The Lyon rectorate confirms that they are accused of having sent death threats the previous week to 14 teachers at Raoul-Dufy college, in the 3rd arrondissement of Lyon, via the Pronote school platform. One of the two middle school students attends this establishment, the other in a college in the Lyon metropolitan area.
Their message, threatening and insulting, referred to the jihadist organization al-Qaeda, according to a source close to the matter. The two students allegedly admitted the facts during their hearings.
