A seven-year-old child was found dead last Friday at his home in Montluel in Ain.
His mother, his uncle and his aunt were placed in police custody for “violence leading to death without intention of causing it”.
The victim’s two brothers, present at the time of the tragedy, were placed in custody.
What happened last Friday in a home in Montluel, a town in Ain northeast of Lyon? This is what gendarmerie investigators are trying to determine after the lifeless body of a seven-year-old child was found there on December 6.
Following this discovery and after being alerted, the Bourg-en-Bresse public prosecutor’s office decided to open an investigation into the charges of “violence against a 15-year-old minor leading to death without intention of causing it” and “violence leading to death without intention of causing it on a minor aged 15 by an ascendant or a person having authority over the victim against X”, TF1info learned this Monday.
The latter also opened his information on the charges of “failure to assist a minor under 15 in danger” and “false denunciation to a judicial or administrative authority leading to unnecessary research against the child’s uncle, mother and aunt deceased”.

Three adults arrested, two children placed
Three people were taken into custody by investigators as part of the open investigation, specifies the prosecution. They are the mother, uncle and aunt of the young victim. The three will be referred today to the Bourg-en-Bresse public prosecutor’s office.
“The judicial investigation will make it possible in particular to identify the perpetrator of the blows which led to the death of the child, uncertainties remaining at this stage”according to the prosecution this Monday who refuses, at this stage, without saying more about this sordid affair.
The victim’s two brothers, who were present at the home, were the subject of a temporary placement order. Investigations continue.
