Visit Florida takes stock following the passage of hurricanes Hélène and Milton, reassuring travelers and tourism professionals about the situation in the Sunshine State: “The vast majority of our tourist destinations are open to visitors. St. Pete et Clearwater

Nestled on the sun-drenched peninsula between Tampa Bay and the Gulf of Mexico, the cities of St. Pete and Clearwater say they are ready to welcome visitors, with 80% of their tourist attractions open. Beach access is open at popular Clearwater Beach and many surrounding beaches, although some access points may be restricted as cleanup continues along the 35 miles of coastline. Renowned attractions like the Dalí Museum and Clearwater Marine Aquarium, as well as outdoor recreation spots like the St. Pete Pier and Hubbard’s Marina are also operational.

Sarasota

Sarasota on the west coast is gradually recovering. As a result, some venues, attractions and accommodations are fully operational and other areas like St. Armands Circle continue to “get a makeover.” Every week, more restaurants and stores are reopening, while U.S. airlines Breeze Airways and Allegiant Airways recently announced increases to their routes to Sarasota-Bradenton to better accommodate visitors. Sarasota’s blend of art, culture and natural beauty is thriving. Visitors can already enjoy what makes the destination so charming.

Bradenton

Also located on the west coast, south of Tampa Bay, between St. Petersburg and Sarasota, the Bradenton area is also ready to welcome visitors, with all of its white sand beaches already open to the public. Cleanup efforts on barrier islands such as Anna Maria Island and Longboat Key are going very well and several restaurants, vacation rentals and other tourist spots are opening each day. Downtown Bradenton’s hotels, restaurants, and attractions are also ready to welcome visitors, and its popular market has resumed operations. As of today, with the exception of Leffis Key on Anna Maria Island, all Manatee County nature preserves including the popular Emerson Point and Robinson Nature Preserves are open.
