Press release / Incident at the December 7 demonstration in Paris: defenders of Palestinian rights must be protected

On December 8, 2024,

Saturday December 7 during the demonstration in support of the Palestinian people in , an armed man threatened the participants after trying to tear down a sign and uttering numerous insults.

He was disarmed and arrested by the police.

For weeks, slander and threats have multiplied against those who mobilize for peace and respect for international law. This nauseating climate, maintained by the official narrative of most of the media and by many political leaders, encourages violent acts as we saw yesterday.

's refusal to apply the arrest warrants of the International Criminal Court, the acceptance of an event organized by the Israeli far-right to be held in Paris, contribute to giving a feeling of impunity to supporters of the genocide in Gaza.

We denounce this violence and we demand that all light be shed on this incident.

We demand an end to the criminalization of the movement of solidarity with the Palestinian people, who have been able to organize their demonstrations for 14 months without any incident.
