This had been planned for a few weeks, the time for the town of Sévérac (Loire-Atlantique) to reorganize the Pléiades garden a little, in particular the upper part, and also provide visibility for the exhibitors by lowering the low wall. The move took place and all it took was for the producers and artisans to cross the street to offer their traditional festive market on the first Saturday of the month.
A Christmas market with of course always vegetables and delicacies of all kinds including Patrick Balaud’s chocolates, but also decoration, care products, macramé, flowers and floral arrangements or even warm scarves knitted at home. A clothing accessory that came in handy on Saturday morning! But to warm up, we were also able to benefit from the presence of pianist Guillaume Tristant who accompanied the customers with his gentle notes throughout the morning. And then, now a covered area, the Pléiades courtyard provides shelter from bad weather in its colorful decor.
Finally, a newcomer set up shop at the market: Jocelyn Viallon, a craftsman grinder from Redon who mounted his sharpening equipment on a bicycle. The latter also allows him to travel like Saturday where, he confides, “I missed the train so I came using the towpath. It was very nice.” If you have knives, scissors, garden tools whose blades have dulled, it will now be there every first Saturday of the month. Note that Jocelyn Viallon also offers training and internships. To find out more, simply visit its website: leveloremouleur.fr.
As for the producers’ market, it will take place as usual next Saturday at Les Pléiades.
