Only 5 weeks left! In 5 weeks, the 2024 NFL regular season will be officially over and all the playoff posters will be known. The teams therefore only have a reduced margin for error entering this month of December when they are still in the race for qualification in the playoffs. A qualification which still concerns the two evening teams, namely the Minnesota Vikings and the Atlanta Falcons.
Two teams that can win their division
The easiest way in the NFL to qualify for the playoffs is to win your division. One thing that the two evening teams can still hope to accomplish in this 2024 NFL season.
The Minnesota Vikings are a bit of a surprise team for this 2024 season. Regular in recent seasons, the Vikings were supposed to turn a page in this season after the selection of a new young quarterback, JJ McCarthy, during the last draft. But the injury to this quarterback before the start of the season reshuffled the cards and the Vikings are today second, behind the Lions, in the toughest division in the entire NFL. With favorable scenarios, the Vikings can even qualify this Sunday for the playoffs.
On the Atlanta side, things have been a bit of a mess for several weeks. The Falcons, who were quietly leading their division, have just lost three consecutive games and find themselves under threat from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. We will therefore have to react this week to avoid another big disappointment for the Atlanta franchise.

This meeting between the Atlanta Falcons and the Minnesota Vikings will be much more than just a regular season game for Falcons quarterback Kirk Cousins. Because for six years, the man we nicknamed Captain Kirk played under the colors… of the Minnesota Vikings. It is therefore a real return home for the 36-year-old quarterback who will try to make a better copy than that of last week. Indeed, during week 13 against the Chargers, Cousins threw no less than 4 interceptions into the opposing arms.
