Miguel Herrera attacks new Chivas coach Óscar García and asks him not to sell ‘mirages’

Miguel Herrera strongly criticized the thunderous statements made by Óscar García, the new Chivas coach, saying that he came to sell ‘mirages’.

The former coach, a two-time champion with América in Liga MX, expressed his disagreement with García Junyent’s remarks comparing Chivas to Real Madrid and FC Barcelona, demanding that he refrain from misleading fans.

During his intervention as an analyst on Fox Sports’ La Última Palabra, Herrera did not mince his words towards his colleague, who arrived from Spanish football: “I hope that Óscar García succeeds, and it is not a question not to attack him, but he starts badly, by selling mirages, and by misleading the fans who have just been deceived.”

“In other words, the people of Chivas come from a big disillusionment that has done a lot of harm, and they receive a coach who misleads them, so it’s not that I want to speak negatively—again, I “I hope he succeeds and can be like Anselmi, who arrived without much fame and is now an extraordinary coach,” emphasized Herrera, who has always been very critical of the Guadalajara environment.

Known as “Piojo”, Herrera went further in his criticism: “I maintain that if we bring in someone who perhaps has better bases, like in Europe, where they are ahead of for us, it’s not a mistake to bring in this kind of coaches; if we bring in someone qualified who can help us, it’s not necessarily bad, but having a Spanish coach in the team; the most Mexican team in Mexico, that seems to me odd.”

Miguel Herrera also pointed out that the Spanish strategist has already started his career in Mexico on the wrong foot: “I’m talking about his introduction, where he can’t come in and talk, knowing that this team has suffered a very strong blow of disillusionment, little It doesn’t matter whether he played well or badly, having missed the playoffs.”

“They deceived them, and the fans were angry about it, and here is the new coach trying to sell this to the Chivas fans, who are very important and significant, and we hope they don’t believe this guy as soon as departure,” insisted the former coach of Atlante, Monterrey, Chivas, Xolos Tijuana, and Tigres, among others.

In conclusion, Herrera said his colleague should have approached his first impressions in Mexican football with more intelligence: “He should have come in and said, ‘Hello, I’m Óscar García, I’m the coach of Chivas, I I’m going to work, thank you, have a good evening, nice to meet you, and then prove what type of coach I am through my work.'”
