For “better editorialization”, the Professional Football League (LFP) and the broadcaster DAZN announced this Friday that an adjustment to the programming schedule has been made. From the 17th day of Ligue 1, matches at 5 p.m. on Sundays will start 15 minutes later.
Small schedule change to be expected soon. In consultation with DAZN, the Board of Directors of the Professional Football League (LFP), meeting on Thursday December 5, announced this Friday that it had adjusted the programming schedule for Ligue 1 McDonald's matches.
Be patient, this modification will only take effect from the 17th day of the championship (from January 10 to 12). Ligue 1 matches scheduled every Sunday at 5 p.m. will now start at 5:15 p.m., the LFP announced in a press release.
Nantes-Rennes and Strasbourg-Reims not affected
While the 14th day of Ligue 1 begins this Friday with two matches (Lille-Brest and Auxerre-PSG), there will be two more matches at 5 p.m. on Sunday. The derby between Nantes and Rennes and the meeting between Strasbourg and Reims will remain on this schedule.
The Board of Directors justified this arrangement of McDonald's Ligue 1 days, claiming to do so to “respond to having a greater interval between the end of the match starting at 3 p.m. and the start of the matches at 5:15 p.m.”, as well as than “offering viewers better editorialization” of late afternoon posters.
