Nedbank Challenge: Guerrier takes charge

If he waited 230 departures and 19 years, betweenOpen de 2005 andEstrella Damm NA Andalucía Masters 2024, to win his first title on the DP World Tour, Julien Guerrier certainly does not intend to wait that long to claim a second victory. The 39-year-old from Rochelais would undoubtedly be satisfied with reducing the wait to three tournaments; in any case he is on track to play the leading roles this weekend after having signed the best score of the second round this Friday. Author of a card of 68 (-4) including eight birdies and four bogeys, he ignored the almost scorching conditions to take the lead after 36 holes. With a total of -5, he is one unit ahead of two men, including the South African Ockie Strydom.

The other member of this pursuing duo is none other than a compatriot of Guerrier: Romain Langasque. The Riviera, who posted a second consecutive 70 (-2), has indeed moved up to 2nd place tied at -4, and will play in the last group on Saturday alongside the first two mentioned. But the fine performance of the French Sun City don't stop at these two, since Frédéric Lacroix is in 8th place at -2 after his 70 (-2) of the day!

A little further, David Ravetto moved up to 25th position at +2 after a very good 69 (-3), whileUgo Coussaud plunged to 47th place at +5 after conceding a card of 79 (+7).
