On December 4 in Cuneo an important meeting was held to define the route of the cross-border path of the European ALCOTRA RivierALP project. This route, which connects the Alps to the Mediterranean Sea, symbolizes a new connection between Italy and , while promoting the natural and cultural heritage of this exceptional territory.

The path begins in Limone Piemonte and, towards the sea, divides into three main routes leading respectively to , Sanremo and Imperia. On the side of the Piedmont mountains, the route will be accessible via four main gates located in the Gesso, Pesio, Ellero and Tanaro valleys, thus offering visitors privileged access points to explore the wonders of the Alpes-Maritimes.

An outdoor network for everyone

This meeting marked a crucial step in the first phase of the project, devoted to defining the route. The next steps will include the installation of signage throughout the route as well as communication actions, including:

The creation of a dedicated tour guide ;

The launch of a web portal to promote the path and its services;

The participation in specialized fairs, such as the Salon des Chemins in Milan and the Salon du Randonneur in .

In a second phase, the project will extend to the definition and promotion of cycle routes on white roadsin order to create an integrated tourist offer for outdoor enthusiasts, connecting Via del Sale to the cycle paths of the Coast.

A territory to discover, love and savor

RivierALP is much more than just a path : it is an invitation to explore a unique territory, ranging from majestic Alpine peaks to Mediterranean landscapes, crossing natural parks, reserves and historic villages.
