Since the fire of Monday December 2, 2024 in the Maison Rouge districtin Louviers (Eure), the municipality is working to “find a tailor-made solution for each of the 30 families” affected by the disaster, assures the mayor of Louviers, François-Xavier Priollaud.
From the first day, a crisis unit was opened to welcome and support victims and provide them with psychological support. From, solidarity is organized to support the victims. “The residents left their apartments quickly. Some found themselves without clothes, without their identity papers and sometimes without their medication,” declared the mayor of Louviers during a press conference organized this Thursday, December 5, 2024.

The municipality opened a online form to allow residents to offer their help and make donations of basic necessities, clothing, furniture, etc.
There is a real outpouring of solidarity. Many people have contacted us. We invite them to register. They will then be contacted again so that we can define together what the needs are. The idea is to do it on a case by case basis.

Financial donations to CCAS
People wishing to provide financial assistance to disaster victims are invited to contact the CCAS. “ It is possible to make a donation in cash or by check, payable to the Public Treasury. All donations are tax exempt at 66% », Announces the first deputy mayor of Louviers, Anne Terlez.
The objective is finally to help victims with their administrative procedures. “The objective is to find solutions to collect mail and parcels from residents and to ensure their tracking. For those who need medication, we are in contact with the CPAM,” adds the Loverian elected official.
Priority to rehousing
While the mayor of Louviers issued a municipal decree to “prohibit access to the building”an expert was commissioned to take stock of the state of the building, weakened by the fire.
While awaiting the conclusions which will determine the possibility for residents to find their accommodation, the priority is to find “permanent solutions” for rehousing families. “Some were taken in by relatives. Others were temporarily accommodated in the hotel,” recalls François-Xavier Priollaud. The social landlord MonLogement27 ensures that it does everything possible to “find sustainable rehousing solutions” for all residents. “We have a few vacant homes. Others will be released by the end of December. The goal is to show available accommodation as quickly as possible,” concludes the general director of Mon Logement 27.
